The Snickers ad featuring Marilyn Monroe was part of the brand’s famous “You’re Not You When You’re Hungry” campaign. Released during Super Bowl 50 (2016), the commercial recreated Monroe’s iconic scene from The Seven Year Itch, where she stands over a subway grate as her white dress blows up.
However, instead of Monroe, actor Willem Dafoe appeared in the scene, visibly frustrated and complaining about the uncomfortable conditions. The joke? Dafoe was “hungry,” and after being given a Snickers, he transformed back into the glamorous Marilyn Monroe.
